ORGL 530: Servant Leadership

Dr. David Houglum

Greenleaf, Spears, and Horsman were revelations during this course. Their work, and the deep dive into the work to become a servant-leader in training were both intense and aspirational. At the end of the term, I was more affirmed that my decision to apply for this program and pursue a Servant-leadership concentration was the right one.

My artifact is my final Servant Leadership Board Training Presentation designed for my organization’s directors and staff.

The best test, and difficult to administer, is: Do those served grow as persons? Do they, while being served, become healthier, wiser, freer, more autonomous, more likely themselves to become servants? And, what is the effect on the least privileged in society? Will they benefit or at least not be further deprived?
