ORGL 610: Ethical Leadership

Dr. Kristine Hoover

The breadth and depth of the materials covered in this course was just shy of overwhelming. Key concepts included:

  • Moral Sensitivity and Imagination: Can I quickly identify an ethical dilemma and work to understand it as much as I can?

  • Moral Judgement: How well can I analyze my response to an ethical dilemma? What biases do I or others present?

  • Moral Ownership: What control or agency do I have in this environment? Do I have a responsibility to act?

  • Moral Efficacy: Am I qualified to act? Do I have the right tools, information, and support?

  • Moral Courage: What are the stakes/consequences of acting/not acting? Am I willing to put myself on the line?

I wasn’t able to use one of my papers as an artifact due to the sensitivity and/or confidentiality of the subjects, so instead I chose to attach my Final reflection video.

We are all fallible, and when we put fallible human beings in leadership roles, we should not expect moral perfection.
